Anything goes, but ideally we want to read true, sweet, serious poems that take us forward, help us understand. We do not want boring, pretentious or incomprehensible stuff. Ten or so people, intelligent conversation, some fellowship, no showing off… it’s a good way to spend a Friday evening in this dry world. So do come and join us. 25 sept, 18h30-20h site Arsenal Soirées thématiques. AT : BNF site Arsenal, 75004 Paris.

**26 Sept—19h00 sharp: At Village Voice, Benjamin Kunkel reads from his brilliantly comic debut novel. Indecision, which concerns one of the central maladies of our time—a pathological indecision that turns abundance into an affliction & opportunity into a curse. Dwight B. Wilmerding is only twenty-eight, but he's having a midlife crisis. Of course, living a dissolute, dorm like existence in a tiny apartment & working in tech support at the pharmaceutical giant Pfizer are not especially conducive to wisdom. Encouraged by one of his roommates to try an experimental pharmaceutical meant to banish indecision, Dwight jumps at the chance (not without some meditation on the hazards of jumping) & swallows the first fateful pill. & when all at once he is "pfired" from Pfizer & invited to a rendezvous in exotic Ecuador with the girl of his long-ago prep-school dreams, he finds himself on the brink of a new life. The trouble—well, one of the troubles—is that Dwight can't decide if the pills are working. A hilarious journey into unbidden responsibility & unwelcome knowledge. AT: The Village Voice Bookshop, 6 rue Princesse 75006 Paris. M° Mabillon/St Germain des Pres. Tel. : 01 46 33 36 47 www.villagevoicebookshop.com
